Grace Eckert Tattoos
Hi there! My name is Grace and I recently opened my private studio at Shag Studios in Dayton, Ohio! While I have experience with a variety of styles, I specialize in custom and color realism work! I am extremely passionate about delivering the best tattoo experience I can possibly provide! Your comfort and health is my priority - and it is my goal to create an experience that is not only enjoyable, but also informative - so you can feel confident making such a permanent decision. Born and raised in Powell, Ohio, I have been a passionate artist for as long as I can remember. I pursued nearly every opportunity to develop my art skills and entering my work in various exhibitions. Eventually, I chose to pursue a career in art at Xavier University. Although my studies concentrated in Graphic Design, I shaped my course work to reflect and build upon my long-time passion for fine art and tattoos. Through this I was able to develop an extensive background in a variety of fine art mediums. Over those four years, I collected an extensive knowledge of art, design, and creative business management. Outside of my academics, I spent much of my time exploring the world of tattoos through my own research & networking. In my senior year, I created my senior thesis exhibit, INKD, as a way to synthesize my passions for art and tattooing from my own unique and nuanced perspective. In May of 2022, I received my Bachelor of Arts from Xavier University. Shortly after, I completed my tattoo apprenticeship under the mentorship of Chris Powell at Thousand Oaks Tattoos & Cosmetics. After graduating my apprenticeship, I became a full-time artist at Thousand Oaks and continued building my portfolio until this fall, when I had the exciting opportunity to open my own private studio! I now operate my private studio at Shag Studios in Dayton, Ohio, and I live my dream as I continue learning and tattooing each day! Outside of my professional life, I love to travel, listen to music, go on walks with my dog, and try new things! I have always been an artist, so when I'm not working on tattoo designs or drawing exercises, you can often find me painting, printmaking, or exploring new mediums!
